Abstract: Former University of Texas men's basketball coach Chris Beard is leaving Austin, Texas.

He is selling his four-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom, 4,000-square-foot home in the Capital City for $4.95 million.

The listing comes after he was arrested on domestic violence charges in December following an altercation with his fiancé.

The school immediately suspended Beard without pay and eventually fired him in early January.

Because his dismissal stemmed from a felony charge, the school did not have to pay the more than $25 million remaining on his contract.

Situated on a quarter-acre lot, the home is located in the desirable Tarrytown neighbourhood. It is an area full of trees, plenty of shopping and close to the golf course.

This luxury home sits on a leafy corner lot with interior details including oak floors, freshly painted white walls and a limestone fireplace.

An open floor plan connects the living room, dining room and kitchen, while glass doors lead to a private backyard and patio.

The master bedroom suite is located on the main floor and offers a quiet retreat facing the rear of the home. The master bedroom has two walk-in wardrobes and a skylight bathroom with a large soaking tub.

On the first floor there is a bonus room, as well as space for a home office. Outside there is a refreshing swimming pool and a large lawn for relaxation under oak and hickory trees.

At the time of his arrest, Beard was in the second year of his seven-year contract with the University. Prior to being hired by the Longhorns, he had been a successful head coach at Texas Tech for five seasons.
