Abstract: It's not for nothing that this place is known as 'Paradise Cove'.

Hockey legend Chris Chelios, whose stellar play on the ice helped engrave his name on the Stanley Cup three times, is selling a slice of Malibu paradise on the sand.

But hold on to your helmets - the price tag on Cheli's place is not for the faint-hearted. We're talking $75 million.

While Chelios may feel bad about giving up the beach resort, if he can meet the asking price, he'll slip away with an incredible profit.

He bought the place in 2003 for $6 million, which means he could make over $60 million on the sale, including decades of improvements and renovations.

Few homes can match this one, with 90 feet of beach frontage, four bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and a guest cottage.

Ocean views and the opportunity to gaze at the Queen's Necklace (the twinkling lights on the shoreline between Malibu and San Pedro look like a necklace at night) put this property in a class of its own.

Huge windows, walls of glass, soaring ceilings, skylights and bright white paint fill the main living spaces with light. The kitchen offers a mid-century aesthetic as well as luxurious appliances, a breakfast nook and counter seating.

The master bedroom has a fireplace, sitting area, walk-in closet and ocean views from the spacious nearby bathroom. A private deck with its own hot tub is just a few steps away.

Have extra visitors clamouring for a stay in paradise? Tuck them (luxuriously) away in the one-bedroom guest bungalow with kitchen, living room and three huge terraces, one of which also has a hot tub and a barrel sauna.

The lush greenery, gated entrance and location at the end of a cul-de-sac all make up a beach-style retreat perfect for anyone wanting a sunny and tranquil holiday estate.

Chelios played 27 seasons in the NHL, retiring at the age of 48.

He earned 11 All-Star invitations, three Norris Awards, and was named one of the league's 100 greatest players of all time in 2017. At the end of his playing days, he went into management with the Detroit Red Wings. Today, he is an NHL analyst for ESPN.
